In Time
in time I’ve learned
that being broken isn’t really broken
unless you were the one
who let yourself fall
and never bothered to thread a needle
and stitch your heart back
in time I’ve learned
that you have to let things grow
build a garden of your own
because the flowers that are given
by someone you love
you end up killing
in time I’ve learned
to build my own road
because following your trail
made me remember the pain of hiking
and made me forget
the flowers that painted the way
in time I’ve learned
that a kiss means nothing
just like a hug from someone
doesn’t mean security
and an apology from you
is completely empty
that being broken isn’t really broken
unless you were the one
who let yourself fall
and never bothered to thread a needle
and stitch your heart back
in time I’ve learned
that you have to let things grow
build a garden of your own
because the flowers that are given
by someone you love
you end up killing
in time I’ve learned
to build my own road
because following your trail
made me remember the pain of hiking
and made me forget
the flowers that painted the way
in time I’ve learned
that a kiss means nothing
just like a hug from someone
doesn’t mean security
and an apology from you
is completely empty
