Corners of your parchment heart curl  
as the world you once knew unfurls  

words written  
so sensual, so smooth  
dried up as petals  
of a once blooming rose  
 
wilting ever slowly  
as seasons drift on by  
wet eyes stare off blankly  
into a now deserted sky
