Midnight Meditation
I stand alone at the strike of midnight
I have four walls I call home
The artificial light proud above me
The clock on my left strikes all alone
The windows allow for their limited view
Doors locked tight against the worldly night
The box repeats the same old tune
Casting its line for another bite
I stand alone at the strike of midnight
Push down the four walls with my mind
The light above crashes around me
The clock no longer defines my time
The window pane has had its day
Doors lay waste to bridge my leave
The box still drones far behind me
Fading away to my sweet release
I stand alone at the strike of midnight
The lamppost glares into the night
Many sweet homes stand afore me
Silent to all who slumber inside
A car passes by without a thought
Concrete cold and hard upon my feet
The crisp wind whips around my shoulders
As I walk down this silent street
My mind takes my to a clearing
The earth is soft upon my tread
Trees bow as if to embrace me
Moonlight paves my way ahead
Silence so thick I hear my heart beating
Gently in tune to my expansive mind
I join my soul as if I were sleeping
Nestled as one beyond earthly time
In this moment of clarity and joy
I lift my eyes to the starry abyss
Thanking spirit for being with me
In this midnight hour to truly exist
I have four walls I call home
The artificial light proud above me
The clock on my left strikes all alone
The windows allow for their limited view
Doors locked tight against the worldly night
The box repeats the same old tune
Casting its line for another bite
I stand alone at the strike of midnight
Push down the four walls with my mind
The light above crashes around me
The clock no longer defines my time
The window pane has had its day
Doors lay waste to bridge my leave
The box still drones far behind me
Fading away to my sweet release
I stand alone at the strike of midnight
The lamppost glares into the night
Many sweet homes stand afore me
Silent to all who slumber inside
A car passes by without a thought
Concrete cold and hard upon my feet
The crisp wind whips around my shoulders
As I walk down this silent street
My mind takes my to a clearing
The earth is soft upon my tread
Trees bow as if to embrace me
Moonlight paves my way ahead
Silence so thick I hear my heart beating
Gently in tune to my expansive mind
I join my soul as if I were sleeping
Nestled as one beyond earthly time
In this moment of clarity and joy
I lift my eyes to the starry abyss
Thanking spirit for being with me
In this midnight hour to truly exist
