Today I decided to open my eyes
My brain took a part
All hopeful, obliged
Sanguine as it was to be woeful, demised
Here too joined my heart
And my soul, we combined
But I wasn't met with scenes so serene
Though it seemed like it would be at peace
You would think
No, I opened them shy at a world
So confused
Loving what they lack while they
Practice untruths
But their practical use
Produced colors, not greys
And my black and whites
Weren't so far away
It felt so familial, the dreams of that day
So I did what I know
And wished them to play
The veil on our eyes then lifted and cleared
We saw the things we despised
Were really the things we hold dear
I opened my arms to embrace, pull them near
And stayed patient while the
Ancient tomorrow appeared
My brain took a part
All hopeful, obliged
Sanguine as it was to be woeful, demised
Here too joined my heart
And my soul, we combined
But I wasn't met with scenes so serene
Though it seemed like it would be at peace
You would think
No, I opened them shy at a world
So confused
Loving what they lack while they
Practice untruths
But their practical use
Produced colors, not greys
And my black and whites
Weren't so far away
It felt so familial, the dreams of that day
So I did what I know
And wished them to play
The veil on our eyes then lifted and cleared
We saw the things we despised
Were really the things we hold dear
I opened my arms to embrace, pull them near
And stayed patient while the
Ancient tomorrow appeared
