and where a mother lies...
when a mother lies
do not dare
look into her eyes
she does
what she is
when a mother lies
to the side
nurturing life
there is heaven
delivering sustenance
when a mother lies
in the world's eye
what is missed
is the sight
that she couldn't bear
so do not dare
ask why
when a mother lies
closing her eyes
there lay
a child
a fairy
a princess
who once believed
in rainbows and unicorns
an angel to her own mother
a friend a sister a wife
but one role that becomes
her
is
mother
forever
and there lay
under her feet
the gateway
to heaven
we will never see it
for we are but heathen
failing to care
when she didn't lie
there..
do not dare

Great structure with this ... love the parallel stanzas with the same opening line ... carries the poem well ...

well Sis way before i was ever born...you knew coz you ARE a Mother yourself!
observed My own Mum and the Moms i have come across my life... at all of the stages i have been through... what they do, the lengths they go to, for their loved ones, the extremes (well for the world those lengths might be extreme but i doubt they are for the Mother) they go to... to save their kids... hence

only being what she knows...
a mother, naturally...so to look into her eyes is to judge her...
that was the S1
and the last stanza...well so many of my friends
unfortunately are at that stage...too late to appreciate those feet
no longer there...where lay the heaven
my attempt ...to say
as i see
honored
beyond word my Sis
just by your mere presence here...and the rest
well ...left me utterly humbled.
