valley of the donkeys

they came  
they tamed
or so they thought -
nature
[the fucking idiots]
 
it was a place  
paradise perfect
 
then came the machinery
conquered
was the word
 
and they ruled
no matter the paradise they came to
was ruined
 
the point of focus: growth
 
like the dragon that outgrew the den
their egos were colossal by now
 
and then the earth was tickled
the wave and the resulting goose bumps
left the machines squashed
like a mosquito that bit an exposed butt cheek
 
the valley now rendered
beyond access by wheels
so they resorted to transport primitive
 
the donkeys
of the valley
