Silent As A Whisper

Morning light breaks through my trance
as loving words float off into the wind
like a kaleidosope of butterflies
flashing before my eyes

too many forgotten words
long the euphoria of your first caress
crave your eager fingers playing
along my nerve endings

a magical moonlight sonata
lain out on a black and white keyboard

droplets of musky perspiration
trail, glistening, down my chest
those precious lips follow
into the valley of desire

a blue haze of passion
thrown into never ending heights

side by side two lost souls
passing thru the night
—grasping—
seeking solace one more time
holding each other tight

silent as a whisper I slipped away
not looking back at your slumbering form
I knew I could not stay in the safety of your arms
I could not endanger your heart again
