Image for the poem I am Prey

I am Prey

I see you, but you are unaware.

Silently, you follow me. Stalk me. Circle me from afar.
In the shadows, in the distance. You hunt me.
Deeply I breathe. Inside I smile, outside oblivious.
And the closer you come.

Moving in, erotically, slowly building, thinking, dreaming.
Taking in your sweet little prey.
I move not faster, nor slower. I enjoy my pace, imagine your face.
I walk, and wait.

Approaching. Heart steady, mind clear. Restrained frenzy.
Invitation. Smile at acceptance. False conquest.
Entering, I feel your silent excitement. Anticipate.
I close the door, and seal your fate.

I see you, but you are unaware.
