Elementary

Schools aren’t made for boys
They are made for girls
Who will sit quietly
And pay attention

Schools aren’t made for boys
Boys are not made to stay in one place
They are here & there,
In this space or that space

Schools aren’t made for boys
Boys learn kinetically
They can sit or stand
As long as they are learning

Schools aren’t made for boys
While girl shake their heads,
Roll their eyes and practice their
Handwriting skills
Through endless repetition

Schools aren’t made for boys
Girls understand books,
But they will never
Fully understand boys
Boys are unpredictable

However, all too soon
Girls will like boys
And boys will like that
Though they won’t admit it
For a long while

Then behind the makeup
And the smile
Girls will learn that
The only thing worse
Than a boy who hates you
Is a boy that loves you

And boys will learn
There’s nothing more
Complicated than girls

Boys will be boys
And girls will be girls
Each learning in
Their own way
Though, it is life
Who gives them
A true education
