The Night Slays

Gathered on the hill, gaze towards the wood
Couching silently still, hearts started to race as they stood
Hounds barks echoed thru the trees
Hunters torches smoke carried on the twilight breeze

Turning to single two to flank their right
Nodding for two to flank the left as they came close to sight
Standing as the pack looked on, their smell so close
The hounds were let go to run ahead

Starting to shift, started to take form
A muzzle tightened a command given as they began to run
The hounds barks were now silenced in the night
The hunters had now become the hunted

The light of their torches caught the hungry eyes
Screams replaced the sound of their guns
Blood was spilled and throats were slashed
A cry at the moon as the battle was won

Man had thought to invade their land
A superior claim their species made
Stay your ground and respect natures way
As this, his pack will hunt this beast called man, night... and day
