Heart of gold
They say she's got a heart of gold
Never mind how much it weights her down
People think it's one part they can't afford
Leaving her with the painful golden crown
She cares not for riches cause they're cursed
She cares not for gold digging waves of friends
Happiness won't come to those who wait
So she will break the golden gates
And stay awake
They say she's the luckiest of them all
Never mind how much of it was bought with work
People think so many things untrue
Forgetting everyone's paying their due
Still they care for riches though they're cursed
They care for friends that disappear first
Cause that's what they think happiness is like
Illusions are easiest to keep inside
They fell asleep
They closed their eyes
And closed their hearts
Yearning for that one
Made of gold
Never mind how much it weights her down
People think it's one part they can't afford
Leaving her with the painful golden crown
She cares not for riches cause they're cursed
She cares not for gold digging waves of friends
Happiness won't come to those who wait
So she will break the golden gates
And stay awake
They say she's the luckiest of them all
Never mind how much of it was bought with work
People think so many things untrue
Forgetting everyone's paying their due
Still they care for riches though they're cursed
They care for friends that disappear first
Cause that's what they think happiness is like
Illusions are easiest to keep inside
They fell asleep
They closed their eyes
And closed their hearts
Yearning for that one
Made of gold
