the fire in her eyes
sparks up a conversation
yet, I am speechless

Hi there, MysticalRose,
Thanks for that sweet compliment :). Love is a powerful force, perhaps the most powerful. For where great love is present, hate cannot exist... and that is a beautiful thing!

NewB,
+You write great Haikus(gesundheit!). I've never been a big Haiku person, but I love yours! They're understandable.
Good seeing you!
Matthew.

Re: Re. Her
That's a sweet compliment, Matthew. That makes me feel special :)
So glad that you can FEEL them!
Like I said in the author's note... haikus are a quick way for me to release pent up emotions (or to express a specific feeling), without having to overthink it or get too technical with it. I write haikus often for this very reason, but I only post the ones which I feel will be most relatable here.
I used to think of haikus as lazy poems, as they typically don't take as much effort to write, but I've realized that it's not entirely true. I've spent hours tweaking a little haiku to get the wording just the way I want, or to create the perfect impression or feeling that I was looking for. There is a deeper challenge to writing a haiku than meets the eye, which many seem to miss. It's not just about writing a cute little poem (although it can be). To me, the best haikus aren't just cutesy little poems like many may think of a haiku, but are profound statements, powerful emotional expressions, moments of incredible irony or contradictory beliefs, or ideas that really make you think deeply and reflect on them. Brevity truly is an art!
Anyway, thanks again for your continued support. I'm happy to see that you're putting out poems again, by the way!

Thanks NewB,
You're a tremendous writer, and so right about Haiku's. Some of them have such ridiculous content for so few words(like yours), it is quite an art.
Great job, and thanks for always being such a great friend while I'm weening myself back from being away.
You're the best.

Better to have been there before than to have never been there at all :)
She is very special, so if I got that across in this little haiku, then I did my job!
Thanks again, deadinme!

I have heard that the eyes are the openings to a woman's soul. Beautiful and simple. Perfect even. <3
