Holding the pain
Everyone smiles
Just as everyone cries
Days filled with sorrow
Met with days filled by joy
What makes us cry?
What forces us to laugh?
When we cry why do we remain down?
Long after the fact we retain our frown
Why when we laugh does it only last for a while?
Oh how easily we favor pain for a smile
Does laughter hurt more than tears?
Is that why we are usually left with a frown?
Often letting our smiles turn upsidown
When we are in pain
What is it we gain?
Surely it must be something
Otherwise our sorrow would be brief
While our blissful lives long
What is it we hide?
Holding our pains deep inside
What is it we gain?
Forcing ourselves to endure the pain
Just as everyone cries
Days filled with sorrow
Met with days filled by joy
What makes us cry?
What forces us to laugh?
When we cry why do we remain down?
Long after the fact we retain our frown
Why when we laugh does it only last for a while?
Oh how easily we favor pain for a smile
Does laughter hurt more than tears?
Is that why we are usually left with a frown?
Often letting our smiles turn upsidown
When we are in pain
What is it we gain?
Surely it must be something
Otherwise our sorrow would be brief
While our blissful lives long
What is it we hide?
Holding our pains deep inside
What is it we gain?
Forcing ourselves to endure the pain
