Vulnerable walls in the wake of storm
It’s a knowing.
It settles
Into every unprotected corner
Into the basement cracks
Into the forgotten holes
Into the fractures of the wall
Into the fissures of the broken sink
It will slink away
It’s happening now….
Cowering back into the sea.

When the waters recede, it's because it is being taken up by a bigger wave. The cracks may get filled, but perhaps, overflowed as well.

Made me think that because it is in all the crevices, you can never be truly done with it. Never start again clean, there is always a reminder or a past memory.
