innocence
soft and gentle is the day
how could I be blind to him?
to his need and desires...my heart hurts
I failed to see him...
when he came openly to me
shadowed by the stars
they wish to claim you today as their own...
full of regret you turn and look to me
I look in your fathomless orbs
they reflect my own longing to go
to shine in the cosmos...
a jewel of the universes
I tell you...you must stay and light the day
does the sun's power hold no sway?
if you were to go too soon
who would hold the bride's hand
when she walked down the aisle
from girlhood into her future?
all that glitters isn't gold
I look to the heavens
and see dust filled clouds
expelling their energy
spellbinding they are...
who will be there to hold her
when you're gone
what man will wear your shoes
when you lie cold in a pit
and she longs for death with you?
the reaper approaches...
when death comes how will you answer
when he comes to take you from
mother, sister, wife, and mistress...
