The Spirit

“Can anybody hear me?!”
I bellow from my lungs,
They continue to ignore,
as if to stick out their tongues.
“This isn’t funny guys. I’m calling your names.
Why do you act like you don’t hear a thing?”
I’m trying to warm my body,
To distract from the pain.
How dare they leave me stranded here, freezing in the rain.
My body shivers violently, the cold is unyielding,
“Something is wrong.” I say, “I can’t shake this feeling.”
My mother looks to the door and starts to sob.
“Did she see me?” I wonder, reaching for the knob.
She throws the door open, and drops to her knees,
When I tried to catch her, She went right through me.
She continues to cry, and I am in shock.
My brother comes to help her, after noticing the clock.
“Mason, it’s me!” I scream somewhat fantic,
He couldn’t see me either I noticed,
Now I’m starting to panic
I can’t take it anymore, I swear it’s no use
I run as fast as I can, soon my legs wobble from the abuse.
“DO YOU SEE WHAT YOU’VE DONE” asks the Man in Black,
I give him a glare, and refuse to look back.
Suddenly I remember, my heart beats like a drum.
A razor, a bath, and some expensive spiced rum.
I scream in terror as the scars reopen,
Black liquid pours out of them, such a putrid potion.
“YOU’VE MADE YOUR DECISION.” He says,
“NO TIME TO REPENT”.
With a long shaky breath,
I take my judgement.

Author's Note
I've been going through a bit of a writer's block and a major depression, and for some reason my brain would not rest until this was finished. Maybe now they will let me sleep. Enjoy.
