Passionate grip of anemone
Songbird housed by guilted cage
Playful dyrad carved into crib
Selfish love of candle-flame,
hidden from breeze under bell jar
a dwindling orbit around black hole
Last thrash of the minnow,
Sparrow's silence,
Nature-spirit stilled,
Smoke under glass
A brilliant star sputters out
If only I could have let you go...
