Taken in

There's often much to take in, as I learn
Exactly how to please and to progress
From day to day; my blushes sometimes burn
My way into your good books; as I dress,
I hope you hear my chatter; will it cause
A certain predilection for some fun
For one who likes to hear my thoughts? I pause
With hopes my vibrancy will mean the sum
Of your affection will have due regard
To further pleasures: your insistence on
A certain, soft demeanour may reward
My aspirations to serve; as I long
For something that excites you, I begin
To learn that there is so much to take in.
