Walking on Nori
Nori (海苔)
Meditative tears fell upon the outstretched nori (1)
I'd prepared for practice: kata (2) walking...
the walk.
And now hours of preparation ----
of smoothing out misunderstanding
drying out the misinterpretations
numerous email exchanges with the
senpai (6)...
Is it all lost now?
the nori, the seaweed paper now
wrinkles beneath the weight of my
tears
and
the paste that might bind us all
in this writer's Dojo (3)
Is taking too long to cook and I
fear that when my once treasured
samurai have enough to bow &
forgive, to compromise
shedding ego healing within
this stronghold back...
returning us to glory -
will I still have enough nori
to bind and solidify the bei (4)
so that all here might enjoy
the Gohan (5) for many moons to come?
I might if I can keep my tears
to myself.
