Maya: Iteration
We pushed aside the Pyrus leaves,
Tore the crumpled blades,
And ripped the stones
Up and to the side,
Away. Away. Away.
We took chunks of earth
Root by root,
And the mud that clung to their systems.
We put all our efforts into mere inches only to
Cease. Stop. Be done.
So we packed it back
Tighter than before.
The ground was shallow there.
The grass no more,
But a dark sage overcame it still
And its moisture and density, filled.
A corrupted moss that marked
Where our shovels had paid the blunted cost
Where our wills had died and returned to us
We packed the earth then left, and lost.
Tore the crumpled blades,
And ripped the stones
Up and to the side,
Away. Away. Away.
We took chunks of earth
Root by root,
And the mud that clung to their systems.
We put all our efforts into mere inches only to
Cease. Stop. Be done.
So we packed it back
Tighter than before.
The ground was shallow there.
The grass no more,
But a dark sage overcame it still
And its moisture and density, filled.
A corrupted moss that marked
Where our shovels had paid the blunted cost
Where our wills had died and returned to us
We packed the earth then left, and lost.
