Something many lack
One by one
Staring into the mighty sun
God is in our soul, flesh and hands
All across the grass, snow and desert sands
He truly understands
Us and life's demands
Listening to every prayer
Watching when most are unaware
We as humans sin
Only do we understand as regret sets in
God and Jesus give us life
A boy and girl, husband and wife
They watch us cry
As we ask questions why
The future no one will ever know
But guidance is what the heavens show
As we feel fear
In spirit they are always near
Don't ever feel alone, God and Jesus are always there
Showing compassion, love and care
I need to give more time
To our creator, he has not done a crime
Let religion into my soul and heart
Joining a church would be a good start

My only criticism of this would be the subject matter. It's always going to be a hard sell to the masses anyway (potentially) because many of us (myself included) are not particularly religious. The bigger problem though is that this poem sounds a little preachy to me, and that really turns me off.
Anyway, I guess this is really a question of taste. Some people will love this, and poetically it's okay, nothing special but competent I guess.
