I found an orphan melody
Upon the scales I played in
Though asked he did not know his name
His wordless song resides in me
He asks of what I'm dreaming
A melody that sings with me
Our hearts at home yet both set free
And I will share your name
Until you see your fame

A real life example of an Orphan Melody might be the tune to which the English hymn For All The Saints (1890s write) is now usually sign, The tune name, discovered and given by Vaughan Williams who set it to the lyrics, is Sine Nomine - No name. Your poem made me think of this.
Thank you! I was playing around, learning an unusual key when a metaphor for a special kind of romance came to me.
