In between the lines
I wish I could tell you
I wish I could write you something
That would help you understand the torment inside me
The way my eyes sting
When you don’t respond to me
Or the way my chest clenches
After your every word
I think about every little thing
I play it back
Trying to understand
What I did wrong
But after all these thoughts
About you and me
You still don’t understand
And you don’t care
So I’ll write to myself
And try to find comfort
In between the lines
Of you and me
