Mistakes he can't take back
The sweet smell of nicotine lingers on my finger
As the doctor tells me I have cancer
In disbelief I sat silent not wanting to ask what she just said
Some part of me knew this day would come
with the sign shouting smoking kills
The white air going in as I inhale
But mostly I thought I would doge the bullet
Not a lot I feel, the circle between my fingers
But it still got me, they have spread like stars
Reason for not stopping besides being addicted
Being ignorant that I, won't get sick.

Some part of me knew this day would come
