People are fucking unreasonable
People are fucking unreasonable. But why would you want it any other way? How much fun is “reasonable”? There is no reason why you would want people to reason like reasonable people. Most of the time people inject their own feelings or values in factual claims they make. There is no independent rationality they can refer to. Their “truth”, is in fact deemed to be what their subjective experience amounts to. How do you think you could reason man into admitting their faults? People are fucking stubborn. Like a dog that you would tell to quit licking its own wound. It won’t listen. And neither would a person if you tell them that their way of seeing the world is all wrong. But again, why would you want it any other way? Are we supposed to be robots - reciting facts and recoding our whole system every single time we get input of new information? And are we supposed to be spineless creatures - unable to believe there’s anything such as “truth”? No, that’s not how it should be. There's no greater gift than stubborn idiocy. It is what redeems humanity - even if it, time to time, will be its fall.
Are you reasonable? You think so? Well look again. You're standing on your head. You're singing in the middle of the night with the showerhead in your mouth. You're making up scenarios not even the most delusional of messianic psycotics would ever dare come up with. We're all a pack of maniacs and bucketheads trying to fit into this mold. Perhaps, just perhaps, we should pay some gratitude to the simple fact that there only requires one person to screw a light bulb. And that the power grid system of the world hasn't already got knocked out, and we have to resort to cannibalism as our only means of survival. We are the sons of barbarians, and the daughters of mass murderers. And if only we understood that, maybe we could reserve some respect for ourselves, and the fact that we at least have some things going for us.
We have a legacy of terror - and a history of mayhem. We invent new war machines and we build new sufferings. But maybe that's just what makes us human. And maybe that's what got us all here.
