Running From Myself
In life
My life
The whole idea
Was to look for better
Around every corner
Never settle
For one thing
One type
Or one woman
There must be something better
Waiting for me
Beyond that door
Yes there was
That blank door
A great surprise
A dead end
My running was stalled
It was a trap
Beyond that blank door
Been running too long
Dodging my emotions
A better me
I could not find
But this trap
Has rehabilitated my mind
Myself is what I needed
And running from
Was my tragedy
My life
The whole idea
Was to look for better
Around every corner
Never settle
For one thing
One type
Or one woman
There must be something better
Waiting for me
Beyond that door
Yes there was
That blank door
A great surprise
A dead end
My running was stalled
It was a trap
Beyond that blank door
Been running too long
Dodging my emotions
A better me
I could not find
But this trap
Has rehabilitated my mind
Myself is what I needed
And running from
Was my tragedy
