Afterlife

There's something so unobtrusive  
about genuine thanks giving;    
    
  it's not puffed up    
  with pomp and circumstance    
  epic architecture      
  or intricate obeisance    
     
It simply says - "Yes"    
  as people who meet for the first time -    
  understanding the other intimately;    
     
      a charted history    
      of unequivocal trust -      
      without compass or map:      
        
A lion's roar in an empty skull. . .    
  a dragon's howl in a tree long dead;
