A Girl Named...

She slides into the room with the grace of a ballerina
Her whisper slim body designed to dance between raindrops
Eyes focus on her, but she eludes their attention
Her comfort zone lies behind the camera lens
Leaving the other works of art on display

Her voice is soft as an angel hair
The slow cadence, hypnotic in its appeal
She touches each person without using her hands
Her presence remains long after she’s gone
Leaving an aura of peace and serenity

Her cheshire cat smile holds many mysteries

It changes from that of a confident woman
To the adventuresome grin of a teenager
To the glee of a little girl

Chestnut eyes drink in the images of the surroundings
Protected by a fortress of high cheek bones
She guards this fragile passage
For her eyes are the portals to her soul
Unworthy memories have ventured down this private path
Leaving their scars upon her heart.

Her soul she protects, but her spirit she gives freely
Conceived by years of self reflection and awareness
The years of fertility passing in favour of tranquility
Relaxed in the meditative state of being on her own

Unconditional love is rarely found
In the two legged creature of man

When one comes to a fork in the road
Some will take the road less traveled
Others will choose to conform to the norm
Many will deliberate and contemplate
But she will not hesitate
She trusts her life in the hands of fate

She finds comfort in things that do not breathe
One with nature, capturing the majestic beauty of trees
A tree stands tall, with its multitude of arms
Embracing the moon and sun and stars
She has forever changed my vision
I can no longer see a tree as just a tree
For now I see a tree, and a girl named...
