You are quick, I am slow
You are exalted, I am low
You are perceptive, I am dull
You are wise, and surely so

You have knowledge, I have none
You are wisdom's only son
You are versed, I am dumb
Where you go I can't come

You are open, I am shut
You are scholarly, I the nut
You are greater, I am less
You are purer than our mess

You are us, I am none
To all you welcome, to all I shun
You are leading, I am retreating
You are shepherd, I am bleating

You are fire, I am hay
You are money, I am pay
You are frugal, I am spending
You are steadfast, I am bending

You are filled, I am drained
You are healing, I am pained
You are lovely, I am hated
We are those whom you created

You are sent to every nation
You persist in tribulation
No impediment nor care
Yet our burdens still you bear
