through the night
The night wind blows
I’m stuck in this room alone
It was just yesterday I saw your face
I had no right to yell
I guess money makes us stress
To the point to where you pull your hair
You said you would never hurt her
But your actions show you don’t care
You hate the fact that I’m never there
Just smile you’ll make it through the night
Even when life doesn’t seem right
Just pick up your head
Let me tuck you into bed
Let me tell you the stories you die to hear
I know that it isn’t fair
You’re just too young to understand
Daddy never been the best man
I have tried so hard
But the more I try
The more I seem to fail
I don’t want to end up like this
But you’re so much older now
Wow daddy so proud
You’re the only thing I got
Without you I’m just in despair
Life I would never care for
So therefore I need you right now
Years go by I travel the same dirt road
I have nowhere to go
I see your shadow under the tree
Yelling at me to set you free
But I don’t know what you mean
I guess I just never been the father type
I heard that you read my books
Maybe one day you’ll understand
What you mean to me
Just lay your head on the pillow
Try to close your eyes
Dream things you never thought you could
Maybe it will come true we’ll I’m sure it will
Just don’t forget who you are
I’ll just be sitting here
Staring at these baby pictures
It kinda trips me out
Seeing how you look just like daddy
That smile it helps me for awhile
I should of put the pen down
Before the fame turned me around
I’m glad you’re doing well now
Just close your eyes Isabella
We will make it through the night.
