Being As a Stone (Prima Essentia)
I want to be like a stone
compact
hard,
(pun was non-intended)
Honest
solid
and easily apprehended.
I want to be smooth, but with jagged edges
and a surface of peculiarities,
not too easily lifted up
all the while offering a vast set of utilities.
I shall not in the least be easily crushed
either from stabs and blows by hand,
and if ever struck to dust I'll reincarnate
filling my life span now as sand.
With a legacy eternal
and an existence omnipresent,
I'll wear through the toughest stains of time
emerging as full moon from a crescent.
And while my material form is ever-shifting
my pristinity won't lessen,
and so won't my ability
for encapsulating
that which is life's very essence.
