Getting Older
I am never getting any younger, but I need
To stop worrying about all my laugh lines
And wrinkles because those are all signs
That I am truly living life. I cry and bleed,
But that shows that I am human. I stumble,
Fall and make a mess out of things, but that
Shows I am imperfect. I sometimes lay flat
To see how the world may tilt and crumble
Like leaves on a fall day, but that is why I
Wish for a different perspective when life
Gets dull on the edges. The cuts of a knife
I ignore because they hurt, but sharpen my
Senses. Life sometimes throws a curve ball
And I swing, but I still have my solid wall.
