What do you hear?

Which voices in my heart should I try to keep near
The one that reassures, or the one that creates fear
Should I obsess, and worry over every little thing
or be of a calm mind, and peace it may bring
will I give into thoughts that make me discouraged
in preference to helping and trying to encourage
getting things done and try to rush as I must
or be still, pray and listen, to the One that I trust
I would rather be lead than pushed to the brink
enlightening my spirit, not to confuse what I think
so His word may convict me, it does not condemn
my heart strives for His discernment and so I say
