Divide and Ponder

It’s been years since ----
or it feels like years
as way too much time
has transpired, since. . .

Spitting innuendos,
we decipher one another
cryptic musings & runes
clever keys to the
locket around our necks,
tapping at the piano,
a wire with which we use
to use as a life line to
hell.

O how that piano
used to play,
and play sweeter honey
upon the wooden floor!

It’s classical, really
a classic story of
“Boy-meets-Girl”
Misunderstanding
Forgiveness
Friendship
& love.

However,
there will be no sunsets
or riding off ---
Only a forked road
and happiness
for two – not both.
