Those Jealous Shadows
Tears mingle with the shadows: he's not here;
Should I be anxious that some unknown thrills
Have stolen him from me? Hopelessness chills
All prospect of return; so, used to fear,
I cannot feel his presence when he's near;
I worry, when he shows himself, he spills
The coarsest secrets that he has; it wills
More sins to be brought to light; every tear
that's borne by ducts in eyes, just as he dreams,
Will trace the labyrinth of harshest pain
That drives them out, down cheeks, as all the blows,
I'd rain down on my shoulders, mean the screams,
He hears as he thrusts deeper, touch the grain
That's at the heart of those jealous shadows.
Should I be anxious that some unknown thrills
Have stolen him from me? Hopelessness chills
All prospect of return; so, used to fear,
I cannot feel his presence when he's near;
