I Seek Your Spill
(a sonnet)
Deep in the middle night, I seek your spill,
In heat and sweat divulge your hidden heart.
Spread wide your dreams, expose, my hunger thrill,
I would devour words, consume your art.
In simple lines, I enter you, I seep,
Like blood from wounds, like tears from hot lips fall.
Come, feel me in your tangles as you sleep,
I taste in every breath your want’s enthrall.
In quiet dark, in grip of love’s distract',
In vision set on your disclosing grace,
Impossible to fill that void’s retract,
Though hard in hand, that driven need embrace.
How swift the milky rivers seek your banks,
How sweet the taste I give in offered thanks.
