You dis-respect linguistics!

Respect/Disrespect…
You disrespected me
You will show me respect
He disrespected me
You will not disrespect me
She just dissed me!
Uh-uh, no. You will treat me with respect

What?

Respect is earned, and it is for me
To decide whether I deem you worthy
Of my respect. The fact that you live and
Breathe does not canonize you with some
Right to a degree of respect from me or anyone
Else. The fact that you hold some status, credential
Or professional or societal position does not grant
You my respect, you foolish, self-righteous, megalomaniac.

If I will ever respect you, it will be because I choose to—because
For some reason, I consider you to be someone worthy of my respect
Because I admire some trait: your generosity, intellect, talent, eloquence, grace
And it will never have anything to do with you arching your back and beating your
Chest, demanding some status you have not earned in my eyes, you mongoloid gorilla.

Respect—is a reflection of my opinion of you as someone that I hold highly. You obtuse half-wit,
You’re referring to courtesy and good manners. Etiquette, in fact. You are asking that I treat you with
Civility, to speak politely and kindly. That I follow closely guarded rules of society regarding etiquette

To ensure that you are treated with equity, heard and acknowledged. That words such as “please,” “thank you,” “excuse me,” and “I respectfully disagree” pepper my vocabulary in our interactions. So, Okay.

I will grant you your implied request for etiquette, as I do to all living creatures. Because etiquette is a direct reflection on my character—how I choose to treat others says everything about who I am, what
I am made of and has nothing to do with my opinion of you. You see, as I watch pigs soar gracefully through the evening sky, as hell freezes over to a chilly arctic landscape, as I in fact am now a monkey’s uncle, you will never be a decent enough human, an interesting enough mammal or a kind enough creature to ever earn my respect.

Still, I thank you, Sir, for your understanding. I hope that you will please understand as I respectfully disagree with and deny your request for my respect, you filthy swine. :D
