+Art-The Mirror

You were different
From the cane
Pushing
Insubordination
Into
Feigning
Benevolence.
Smacking
Offensiveness
Into
Annexation
Or Appropriation
Over ballet bars
Mounted
Against the walls
Of
Skeletal
Infraction
Psyching me
The f*ck out/
And you were
Now
Training me
In a new
Modality.
Watch the mirror.
(In protest)
To move
Into
Unchartered
Territory
(Run and catch)
For the purposes
Of
Tracing
Then correcting
Flaws
In the body’s
Electric
System
Making
It possible
To perceive
Ourselves
As we did
(Undisturbed)
In the aisles/
“Gangways”
Of becoming
And
The further
Out
You took me
Or we went
The clearer
It all became.

/
Occasionally
We brushed
And I Tried
To feel
Nothing
But
An adult routine
And a high 5
Until the bitter
End
Of the afternoon.
