Your 4 year-old sister's
Balloon found its way
Off her wrist and
Away
Into the blue
And she cried
And she could not
Understand
But five year-old you
Cried with her
And watched it
Singularly focused
Until you could not
See it
Any longer
I think you learned something
Let's chat about this

Compassion in a young one is sweet to watch. I remember how precious such balloon was at that age. What a loss to see fly off it is. It's an exercise in letting go. Later they will understand.
