ACROSS THE SPECTRUM

Hiding in this chamber
Full of dusty memories
I find you leather-bound
And blow gently-
A little whisper on your cover's
Pinwheel filagree
Releasing molecules
Of skin and hair
And silver highlights
Swirling

Did I open you
Or did you open me?

I follow your performance
As a comet slowly journeying
Across the purple sky
Until it rubs up hard enough
On exposed skin of atmosphere
To explode-
A flash so bright it
Burns my brain
And twinkling pieces of you
Flutter down

Into Lake Eerie
Where I float
