As i sprawl...

catlike over my danish grey felt
in my london flat, fallen
golden sun splits a black horizon
gulls wheel over the iced strip of canal
I chew;
thick slices of clove spiced hamb
tough toasted pain
plied high with ginger chestnut
under-bedded with a smear of veeraswamy mango
while broken bits of detroit jungle
stuff up my ear holes
middle ages yawn;
the breadth of a world
lucky old me.
