A Wee Ponder
It is wrong to hurt people
But is it ok to hurt people who hurt others
It's not palatable to wound someone
Or is it palatable to wound attackers
It is not right to bully someone
Maybe it write to bully bullies
It's never ok to abuse
Or is it ok to abuse your abusers
It's bad to kill people
Is it bad to kill bad people
Is killing evil
Or is it not evil to kill evil men
Dropping the H-Bomb to kill so many was unforgivable
Or was it forgivable in saving more lives than it killed
It not good to ponder these things
Or are these ponders necessary for us to grow and learn
It's true that pondering is for the birds
Then birds know more of the truth than we do

No easy answers - I guess that's why philosophers have been discussing it for millennia. Nice couplets.
The H-bomb one is particularly tricky since revisionist historians now say Japan was ready to surrender beforehand but a bit like the Americans acting just before Hans Blick produced the final proof there were no Weapons of Mas Destruction in Iraq in 2003, went ahead anyway and blew the place up. Great photo :))
