New Ground

Never before written
About domestic abuse
What's my excuse

For not reaching out
Not teaching you
What you should do

It's none of my business
And It's none of yours
All second class whores

In the eyes of the beast
In his soul sucking feast

Taking out lives
Pretty housewives
With a broken jaw
And two black eyes

So what do you say then?
Nothing,  already told
That bitch twice

Yeah, laugh about that
It's a great fucking joke

Here's your supper, honey
Hope you fucking choke
I mean, you're the best
Better man than all the rest

You're the man of my dreams
And pillows muffle the screams

In the darkness of night
Kids all tucked in tight
While mommy says prayers
And skin down there tears

I'm sorry I've been quiet
On this particular subject

But it's my business
And you're just another
John Q. Public

So I've kept to myself
Yet, you should get help

If you live everyday
Thinking there's no other way

Don't be like me and cry
Don't let your inner self die

Get up and make a stand
Show them that you are
Better than that evil man

And you don't deserve the pain
Don't let yourself go insane
Run away, run away

Or stay

And hope the sun will rise
While tears fall from your eyes

It's okay baby, I love you
Don't forget girl, I love you
