May I Write

may i write?
because if i don’t express what i feel my mouth will explode with a cry
may i write
because i have a feeling so strong that it might choke me from inside
may i write
as i hold the tears in my eyes

may i write
to feel liberated of the pain that is clutching my heart
may i write
to put in to paper what i no longer want in my mind
may i write
to accept an apology that will never be heard out loud

may i write
as i put my head around what just happened today
may i write
as i write you into paper and out of my life.
