Monogyny

Royal decree:
give the ants a colony
condemnation or liberation?
Disenfranchised displacement, damnation
contain contagion, exiled to isolation
and the ants are delivered down
they cannot keep what they breed
they must grow what they need
why do they obey? Colonials:
"It was royally decreed."
Your masses were tired; you huddled them together to stay sanitary
what are 8,000 lives when they can dig their own cemeteries
the only thing sick is the joke that your ants were still alive
the king's decree outlived him, but the colony went on to survive.

Author's Note
With what we know about leprosy now the treatment they suffered in the past is hard to bear. Particularly in this the case of a Hawaiian colony called Kalaupapa. It's no less shameful than the warehousing of the mentally ill in the past.
I used the comparison to ants because they were treated small like pests, exiled to a colony, lived in a monarchy, and forced to work together for themselves. The worst part is there was a smallpox epidemic around the time when they discovered the leprosy outbreak and started sending the first 12 people into exile.
