Short or Long Track
This may not be poetry.
Did a masterpiece ever start out as a doodle?
Will my hasty lines in class lead to a poem that will rivet your heart?
Will you take those lines to your death?
Do people epiphanies in small talk?
Could my husband and soul mate be my first REAL boyfriend who lives down the street?
Does anything ever start simple and easy?
Can I go to my psychiatrist once or twice and be cured (if I believe in such a word)?
A masterpiece, from recreating, and recreating, perpetually covered in painting, will he (she) be dry-shinned, hungry and unkempt?
Or will my poem come from ripping out my soul a little at a time?
Will you glance over my many first attempts with disinterest?
Is an epiphany something that happens when your mind is so broken that it will finally open wide enough to receive the answer?
Is there a soul mate or a series of lovers, all perfect for their time, but temporary?
Is there a cure, or will I perpetually get better, but never be good.
