We do it like this

It's that time of year
where the adults forget.
Throw on a costume and dance
blindly to a metronome
known only as 'futile.'

The concept that by altering
ourselves we can increase
enjoyment for both them
and us,
seems beyond my reach;
a little like giving up.

Yet, it is en masse.

I've seen the single mum
deny her children
the £2.90 comic book
just as I've watched the proffessional
try out my proffession and stumble
through it,
the blithering idiot.

So lets get dressed up;
forget ourselves,
because that will make it all
much better!

Ha, dozy little fuckers.
