Perchance to Dream

Shadows of reality blanket me
Suffocating me with despair
Lying alone in the night
Hidden deep inside of me
The Love I feel for you
Burning, a beacon for my heart
Leading me from the dark
Back into the light

Your Sun rises
After my sun sets
The distance between us
Daunts me and haunts me
So My heart sings
To the solitary moon
Asking her to carry my song
Bathing you in it
With her silvery light

Invisible ties bind us
Keeping us apart
Yearning to touch, Wanting to feel
Needing to know if this is real
For now perchance to dream
Is the best I can hope
For in that world of what if
I know you are mine
and mine alone
 
Yet once again
Life seeks to play me cruel
With my tortured fate
Still I refuse, to ever give in
I'll struggle and I'll fight
I'll Hope and I'll Love You
Perhaps just this once
Destiny provides a detour
A twisting path
Leading me right to you.
