Success
If I were not to be myself, then I would rather not want this success
If I were to unlearn all my values and principles, then what is the use of learning the tactics of success?
If I were to barter the blissful moments with my loved ones for this maddening race, then I would prefer, this success, to not be chased.
If my smile and emotions have to be faked, then I would rather not socialize just for the heck of it.
Yes, it is important even for me to have success.
The realization of aspirations is what is my success.
The utilization of skills and tapping of potential, are my success.
The zeal to learn and always wanting to improve, are my success.
To compete with no one but myself, is my success.
The satisfaction of giving and contributing, are my success.
I want to succeed and am moving only towards this SUCCESS!

I found this poem that I wrote back in grade 9. It has a bit of an awkward rhythm, but re-reading it after all these years brought back memories. Enjoy!

I never followed the "crowd" nor did I really fit in with a label, hence why I was often left out and at times bullied. My parents taught me to think for myself, unlike the common core school system that teaches children what to think instead of how to think.
