My Beautiful Demon
Oh the warmth, like Sun on my face
Engulfed in your words “I love you, with me your heart is safe.”
Your halo, so bright,
Illuminated my blackened soul.
Adorned my battered heart.
In all this darkness, you were my light.
The saints preached and prayed “child, stay away.”
But I gave you my body, soul, and mind.
Laid my head at your altar and basked in your tranquility. Something I never thought I would find.
But this warmth was getting hotter!
The angels cried to the heavens “God, save her soul.”
You said You’d rip the wings off every angel and go to war with God himself before you’d ever let me go.
We had our own world filled with friendly animals, beautiful flowers, a caressing breeze and gentle sun showers.
With a rose in hand you look at me and say “You surpass them all, your beauty only grows more each day”
He’s a diety, I thought. More than a man could ever be. And I can’t believe out of all the nymphs, he chose me.
Nothing but a mortal, fragile, and weak. wondering why I can no longer stand on my own two feet.
On my knees I now am, and stay. wondering how to make this heat go away.
“Look with your eyes child” God said, shining his light.
All the nymphs smiled at me from the left and right. I closed my eyes, shut them tight.
I take off my pants to find relief from this heat, that’s when you enter me and you’re all I see.
You tell me It’s just a trick God’s playing on me, so I turn my back for him showing me such deceit.
I awake to the sound of song and dance which is something I don’t understand, this is our heaven on earth. Just you and I, but there were fairy’s and pixies flying around in our sky. I look to you, tears in my eyes.
“You’re the only woman I see, yes they’re here but I don’t know why.”
I can not breathe, somethings constricting my lungs. It must be this shirt, so off it comes.
you push me to the dirt and promise with you I’ll never hurt. You fill me up and we’re alone in this world again.
No more singing and laughter, but my heart beat and yours, in tandem it seemed... how it all should be.
I was now naked but I wasn’t ashamed, I bared it all And asked you do the same.
I awake again to whispers of the nymphs.
“Trust her not she’s lost her way, with many others, I’ve seen her lay.”
“I’ve seen her dancing and singing in the woods it’s an act of folly. Stick with me and you’ll always be jolly”
Believe them not, I beg of you, none of what they say is true. I want no other but you and only you.
I look into your eyes and you’re no longer someone I recognize. I close my eyes and say these words “I beg you please love me like before, if my loves not enough, I’ll give you more. You have my body, my heart, and my soul, but I’ll give you my life, please don’t let me go.” I now feel a burning and my eyes shoot open.
I gasp at the words you’ve just spoken “I am numb now, can’t you see. You’ve given your all but you’ll never have me.”
Your halo has fallen, horns in its place. How could I have made such a horrible mistake. The once friendly animals were now snakes, tightly wrapping around my neck and face.
The flowers now dead and falling to the ground.. “what was that?” I thought. “That horrible sound!” The breeze now a hot heat from the flames that surrounded. The ground now so rocky, how could I stay grounded?
The sun showers now acidic leaving holes in my skin. I must of committed the ultimate sin. Our world so beautiful and full of life turned out to be Hell hidden behind glitter and pretty lights. My ears they bleed from that noise again, so loud, my God just make it end. Soon I found the source of a noise that horrific, it was my heart breaking and my spirit along with it. I screamed in pain and cried and bled but I still I looked to you, loving thoughts on my head.
Weeks went by and I wanted to die, but something, some force, it kept me alive. I’d always see it in the corner of my eye a glimmer of light and I didn’t know why. “Go away, please let me leave this world in peace!”
“You will not die, you’re more than a mortal there’s fight and strength buried deep inside. As long as I’m here, right here by your side, you will conquer this demon and all will be right”
”look at me, there’s nothing left my life is over I’m a mess, my soul is black my heart is shattered, I’ll never mean anything. I’ll never matter. So I’ll die right here in this hole that I’ve dug...alone, on my own, hurt and in love”
The light grew bigger and all was clear, I saw my reflection in a broken mirror.
“Can’t you see the beauty in you, through the burns and the scars it still shines through”
This light was right, and I knew, but I was to weak to get up and move. The light grew bigger and to my surprise, it was an angel standing before my very eyes. He lifted me up and removed the snakes I looked into his eyes, he was unafraid. He wrapped around me his wings and shielded me from the rain, then gently flapped them easing the pain. He walked me to the gates of hell, fighting off demons protecting me in his little winged shell. “Who sent you” I asked feeling the sleep take over. “God himself, you’re still in his favor now rest sweet girl for soon your suffering will be over. No more will you hurt, I’ll protect you like a father and nurture you like a mother. I’ll show you love unlike any past lover. You loved through pain and heartache, now I’ll show you real love and the kind of woman it can make.”
I closed my eyes feeling a comfort unknown but not before I seen us lift off the ground.
“Where are we going” I asked, tears streaming. “To Heaven, my love now relax and enjoy your dreaming.” He was the last thing I saw before closing my eyes. This angel that has come and saved my life.
Engulfed in your words “I love you, with me your heart is safe.”
